Hey everyone, I wanted to personally welcome you to MyFi Academy.
My name is Michael Album, and I wanted to share a little bit about my background, who I am, what I’m about as an investor and educator so that we can start to get to know each other a little bit better as you’re listening and hearing my voice in most of these lessons and courses throughout MyFi Academy.
So first and foremost, I am a licensed California real estate agent. I’ve been investing in real estate for over a decade. Now I helped get Roofstock Academy launched, which is roofstock.com one-stop shop for all things, real estate investing. I was one of the co creators and helped develop a lot of their content with doing a lot of the one one-on-one coaching, hosting their podcast. And all things related to the program. And I’ve been really passionate about real estate investing for a long time. And so that’s what I wanted to do with the Roofstock team in developing an education program. Unfortunately, they closed the doors to that program back in 2022. And so I am looking to pick up where they left off. And that was really the impetus to starting MyFi Academy. There are so many programs out there that have self-proclaimed experts or mentors that are trying to get you to sign up for their program, and then they upsell you on different courses. And I’ll buy this course to get to the next course. And I just said, you know what? I want to start a program that helps educate people on how to make great investing decisions when it comes to real estate. And I want to share my personal experience, the personal experiences of others that I’ve worked with. And hopefully help people avoid a lot of the pitfalls and mistakes that I made while I was investing.
Because when I first got my start, there was no bigger pockets. There were no online courses that at least I was familiar with. Podcasts weren’t on my radar yet. And so I spent about two years getting self-educated and pieces of this puzzle together for myself until I ultimately bought my first rental property. And I was off to the races. And ever since then, I’ve been scaling my portfolio with a big emphasis on remote investing. And so in the Academy, you’ll hear me talk a lot about investing remotely or at a distance and less so in your backyard. But I’ve done that too. So I’m well versed on doing both. And so I talk about the pros and cons about where it might make sense for someone to invest based on their current situation and where they’re trying to go and what they’re trying to accomplish.
So everyone has their own personal reasons for why they decided to invest in real estate. And so in the next lesson, I’m going to be covering what some of those are, but I’m really glad that you’re here. I invite you to go at your own pace and take the lessons and courses that are applicable to you. If you’re just getting started out, start at the top and go all the way to the end.
